Description

Light: Needs full sun (6-8+ hours daily). Insufficient light can make plants leggy. Soil & Temperature: Prefers rich, moist, well-draining soil with a pH of 6.0–7.5. They love heat and thrive in temperatures of 75°F or higher. Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, watering deeply when the top inch feels dry. Maintenance: Pinch off the top sets of leaves once the plant reaches 6 inches in height to encourage a bushier habit. Remove flower buds to maintain leaf flavor. Harvesting: Regularly harvest leaves, but avoid taking more than a third of the plant at once to ensure continued growth. Tips for Success: Container Gardening: Ideal for pots, allowing for better drainage and easy relocation to warmer spots. Companion Planting: Pairs well with tomatoes and peppers. Pest Control: Watch for aphids and, if crowded, powdery mildew
