SCMG Annual Plant Sale and Spring Festival FAQ

When is the sale?  Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Where is it?  Memorial Park, 151 East Main Street, Hendersonville, back pavilion near dog park

What’s the admission?  It’s free! 

What kind of plants will be for sale?  Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, herbs, blueberry bushes, flowers and more. We will also offer flower seedlings, houseplant cuttings, tubers, rhizomes and potted transplants from our Master Gardeners.

How much are plants?  Vegetable and herb plants are $4.00 on sale day; $3.00 if pre-order online by April 2. Berry bushes and plants grown by Master Gardeners will vary in price depending on type and size.

How do I pre-order?  Go to Plant Sale menu on our home page and click on Online Store to see plants available for pre-order. Your plants will be waiting for you under your name at a designated pickup space on the day of the sale. Any plants not picked up on sale day will be donated for use at our community projects.

What kind of payments are accepted?  We accept credit cards for online orders, and credit cards and cash on sale day.

Will there be shopping carts?  No, but feel free to bring your own cart or wagon. We will have volunteers available to help load your car, if needed.

Will there be other activities or other things for sale?  Yes, there will be decorated planters, jewelry, okra ornaments, metal and woodworking art, hand-painted garden art, and more. We will also have education sessions.

Will there be experts available to answer my gardening questions?  Yes, Master Gardeners and volunteers will be on hand to answer all things gardening.

Where does the money go?   All plant sale profits support scholarships at Volunteer State Community College and Master Gardener community projects throughout Sumner County, including Connell Garden, Goodlettsville; Historic Cragfont, Castalian Springs; Gallatin Farmer’s Market; Hendersonville Public Library; Liberty Gardens, Gallatin; Shalom Zone, Gallatin; Vol State Demonstration Garden, Gallatin; Mansker’s Station, Goodlettsville; Richland Park, Portland; Historic Rock Castle, Hendersonville; UT Extension Office, Gallatin; and Westmoreland Hope Center.
