Sweet herb, botanically known as Stevia rebaudiana, is a perennial shrub native to South America—specifically Paraguay and Brazil—prized for its leaves that serve as a natural, zero-calorie sweetener. It is a member of the Asteraceae (sunflower) family and is also known as "Sweet Leaf," "Sugar Leaf," and "Honey Leaf".
